Oh great, New Years Eve is approaching. The slew of emails of “what are we going to do,” “where are we going to go” are starting to come about.

I think my new resolution is going to be stop being a whining whitney and not take things too seriously. “Go with the flow,” they say. With that said… WHAT THE HELL ARE WE DOING FOR NEW YEARS EVE?!

It’s this over-hyped night that makes you wonder if you’ll be alone at the stroke of midnight. It’s like Cinderella, except you have both your shoes on. There’s this pressure to find someone that you’ve made good conversation for 2 hours prior, 1 hour at the leeeeast and give ‘em a big fat smooch at 11:59:59. Is this really the perfect way to ring in the new year full of hopeful resolutions and gym memberships? I didn’t think so.

With that note… time for me to assume my position that I care about the night to “remember.”

I cannot take credit for the above quote. Who would’ve thought you’d get such insightful and true statement from The Devil Wears Prada?

There’s no day like pay day. There’s also no day like the company holiday party at Gotham Hall with an open bar, sushi bar, slider bar and mac & cheese bar.

There’s no day like putting my very first real Christmas tree with the most sparkly of sparkled ornaments.

There’s no day like live music. Tomorrow: City & Colour. Woot!

Epoch: particular period of time marked by distinctive features, events.

There’s moments when you look back and you’re just unsure how you got from there to here. It’s weird to think of your life as pockets of time. And those pockets of time being definable. It’s a strange state of being and growing without knowing it.

I’m pretty sure that the number of readers (2 sad souls) of this blog have lost interest seeing as I haven’t written in about a gazillion years.

Maybe 2012 will be the year where I get my mojo back. Maybe not. Probably not. But one can hope!

For those of you that got to spend Thanksgiving with your loverly family and watch your mum do the dishes, well screw you! But I bet you’re jelly that you didn’t see Kung Fu Panda.

If you know me at all, which probably isn’t on the top of your to-do list, you know that I like to make playlists. I made one for a friend’s birthday shindig and the holidays are no exception. Before my roommates scolded me for my “Thanksgiving mix,” it encompassed some Bon Iver and a lot of M83.

Bon Iver is coming out with an exclusive set of videos for his latest album. They are really simple videos of nature that go with his songs. It gives every song a different feel than just listening to it. Here’s what Time said about it: “But as the sounds grow more complicated, the unbroken shot subtly does the same. As the camera zooms and retracts the sun swells and contracts, scrambling and flickering as static is layered into the song.” Watch & listen to it.

So maybe I’ll get some readership back here. I’ll be posting about music, underpants (no, not mine) and the pennies in my loafers.
